for my english class lol

A Blissful Accident

There once was a girl who caused a man to not know how to feel
Nothing did satisfy him, not a drink, nor a meal
He lived alone, with no friend or family
He lived ever after, but was missing the happily
He once had a chance, but that chance passed him by
Nothing he came to realize, not even any of the signs
Of what he could be doing
Get off his butt and live a life
His dream was a family, with two kids and a wife

So he prayed to God
Asking for a second chance
To again achieve the feeling of feelings of romance
Requested he show him the way towards the light
He responded by saying it wouldn’t be worth it without a fight
A test is all it is, to see if we can pass
To obtain that chance in which the moment we are cast

So one day, driving to fulfill a daily task
He ran a red light into another car he crashed
Physically sound, but mentally hurt
By all the drama and anxiety that happened in one spurt
He asked, “Is everyone ok?”
Then he locked eyes with the woman that he delayed
A certain look, came upon his face
One of surprise
It was the one that got away
The girl he felt for, way back in the day
So struck, no words he had to say

He simply smiled
Gave that look of coincidence
Laughed a little, that all of this happened in an instance
And took her hand, by his surprise
He knew this time, he had no reason lie
He confessed the truth
Because he felt he had nothing to lose
After he was finish, a quick silence it came to
He quivered, second-guessing his actions
Regret filled his mind
Like it has his whole time

Thinking of how to put into words what she should say
Pause
She responded “I’ve been feeling the same way”
Eyes were looked in to and smiles were exchanged
As they entered into a new chapter, where their love feels surreal
Where a man can feel a feeling he did not know how to feel
